Power Yoga/Ashtanga Yoga

Power yoga focuses on strength, stamina and flexibility. Power Yoga is very similar to ashtanga yoga, as they both use vinyasas throughout the practice. Vinyasas, a series of poses, such as the sun salutation, are a good way to challenge the body to be flexible, strong and full of endurance. If you are a beginner, take it easy, and do not force your body into a position. If necessary, use yoga equipment, such as yoga props to help you maintain the proper yoga pose. Make no mistake, power yoga is an intense workout!

Ashtanga Yoga is also a traditional form of yoga, and was not brought about as a new way to workout. The practice dates back thousands of years, and some believe it stems from the hatha yoga system.
