Yoga Tips

  • As with any exercise program - please consult with your doctor first. If you're pregnant, make sure your doctor approves of the yoga exercise program as well. It's always better to be safe!

  • Practice, Practice, Practice - The more consistent you are with your practicing, the more natural the yoga poses will become for you

  • Do not overextend yourself in the yoga poses, it can cause injury and muscle tears.

  • Make sure you're comfortable when doing yoga. Mats are nice, but not necessary. All you need is a flat surface and lots of space

  • Having trouble balancing during some of the poses? Try a yoga block or other yoga props.

  • Another trick for balance - concentrate on one spot in front of you. It will help you stay balanced and focused.

  • Take time to relax before and after a yoga session

  • If you are new to yoga, take the time to properly learn the poses and stances. Even if you're not new - remember technique is important!

  • Make sure to breathe! An important part of yoga is the breathing exercises. Your body and muscles need oxygen to do their job - so make sure to give your body what it needs.

  • Enjoy yourself and have fun. No matter the benefits you wish to gain out of doing yoga, you should always be enjoying yourself!
